Adventure in the outback, unleash on coastal roads, and breeze to school and back. I was hoping that they will at least match the earlier offer if not better it come EOFY.

Can we expect them to better this in June? I am in the lookout for a Outback 2. What price should I be targeting? They might, but EOFY sales are little more than a marketing opportunity for car dealers, their quotas are generally monthly. And the only other time they are really motivated to move cars are previous year build plate or when a new MY is released and they need to shift old stock.

I'm assuming that 5 year warranty is not manufacturer backed — Subaru Australia — but from a separate entity. I looked at Subaru's extended warranty terms and conditions only a few weeks ago and this was the case, Subaru and many manufacturers do this. You receive an extra 2 years warranty in addition of the standard 3 but it's conditional on ONLY having the dealership of purchase service your car. Typically you'll end up paying more over that 5 year period in inflated dealership prices.

Better of not getting the extended warranty and just taking the car to a respected independent Subaru mechanic. If you were purchasing the vehicle on a lease over 5 years it may be worth it, as then the servicing costs are factored into the leasing repayments and deductible anyway. I'm assuming that 5 year warranty is not manufacturer backed — Subaru Australia. Organisations work on quarterly quotas and financial years as well.

If they line up with the end of the Australian FY then this is also a good opportunity to save. I read the PDS and unless its changed in the past few weeks it was not backed by Subaru Australia but some 3rd party despite the Subaru Australia marketing.

Hardly any manufacturer warranties are actually issued by the manufacturer. They are offered and underwritten by an insurer. The manufacturer might put their name to it or be the 'contact' although those staff almost certainly are with the insurer , but manufacturers are rarely in the business of running warranty insurance portfolios I say 'insurance' because that is what a warranty is. Not saying the Subaru warranty is good or bad, but the fact that it's provided by someone other than Subaru isn't a concern.

The 6 monthly servicing was one of the reasons why the Subaru Liberty was crossed off my shopping list. Ended up with a Mazda 6, at least they saw the light and moved to a 12 monthly service interval. Apart from that the Liberty is a good car better effort on their part than the last gen offering style wise and good value for money.

All they need to do it revamp their 2. I would tend to agree. Interesting to note that both Mercedes and BMW recently announced that they will no longer invest in developing naturally aspirated engines.
