Here's one for the body people. I have a 92 Chevy Astro Van. The rear doors recently decidid that I no longer need to open them and they feel almost like they' re.

It's a 3 part back door and the upper door won't open. GMC Safari 3 Dr SLE AWD Passenger Van Extended. -. Maintenance & Repair.

I have a Astro van and recently I shut the back doors (two door version) and now they will not open/unlock. I tried the power locks as well.

The handle is there, but it is only connected by the pin holding it, it does not contact the opening mechanism any more. It should pop open. Do I do that from the inside of the van?

On the outside there is nothing exposed to do that. I always wondered why the Astro didn't have an inside access to the door release as the full size Vans do I had the door handle removed on mine, I took that panel off, cut the linkage that normally pulls down on the door latch and flipped it so it goes up instead, drilled a hole in the door by the window, and that linkage sticks up through that, and I bought a 99 cent push button door lock knob and stuck it on that, so I can open the door from the inside, and I have pop out windows so I can also just flick the window open and hit the button to open it from the outside as well.
